ADDITIONAL ACTIVATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL BUSMASTER (SINGLE DEVICE OR INTEGRATED IN TIMBERWOLF SERVER)

The world's best multi-bus master for digital 1-wire sensor networks can be extended in eight steps. Here you can order activation keys to activate additional features. We need the serial number of the Professional Busmaster or the Timberwolf Server for this. Activation can be carried out very easily on the Timberwolf Server, on the WireGate Server or via OWFS and is permanently stored in the Professional Busmaster and is valid for the life of the device.

To simplify production and stock-keeping, the Professional Busmaster is manufactured in full assembly - i.e. with components for all three 1-wire channels. The main effort in the development was in the software, so we allocate the costs according to the extent to which the features are enabled. We call this activation of features activation. This means that you only buy what you need in each case. Activation can also take place at a later date.

Notes on the calculation of shipping costs: Activation keys are digital items for which no shipping costs are incurred. The turnover on these items is therefore not included in the calculation of shipping costs. This also means that sales on these articles are not included in the calculation for reduced shipping costs. Therefore, you may well be charged shipping costs by the shop for the purchase of other items, even though your total turnover is above the specified thresholds. We ask for your understanding.
 

NOTES ON ACTIVATION

Specification of the serial number

Activation keys must be calculated for the respective serial number. Therefore, please enter the required data in the field above.

• Professional Busmaster - single unit: The serial number is located on a label attached to the side of the unit or on the packaging. Please enter this serial number at the top of the order. Alternatively, the serial number is also displayed by the Timberwolf Server / WireGate Server in the browser interface.
• Professional Busmaster - Integrated in the Timberwolf Server: The internal serial number of the Professional Busmaster is displayed by the Timberwolf Server in the browser interface.
• When ordering a new Professional Busmaster or Timberwolf Server: If you order the Professional Busmaster or a Timberwolf Server with integrated Professional Busmaster at the same time in one order, then you do not know the serial number. In this case, please enter "for ordered PBM / TWS" in the serial number field.
• When ordering several Professional Busmasters or Timberwolf Servers in one order: If you order several servers / busmasters and want different activations for them, please indicate the desired distribution in the comment to the order. Alternatively, please write to us at service at elabnet dot de.
   

Carry out activation

You will receive the activation key from us by e-mail. The activation key must be stored in the crypto chip of the Professional Busmaster in order to activate it. Proceed as follows:

• Timberwolf Server: Navigate in the web APP of the Timberwolf server to the 1-Wire interfaces. For the bus master whose features you want to expand through activation and for which you have received an activation key, please click on the blue link "expand". In the following dialogue, enter the activation key and then press the "Done" button. For details, please refer to the commissioning instructions for the Professional Busmaster.
  The process is independent of whether a Professional Busmaster is plugged into the Timberwolf server and / or integrated into it.
• WireGate server: Navigate to the Professional Busmaster display in the Web APP of the WireGate server. For the bus master whose performance features you want to expand through activation and for which you have received an activation key, please click on the symbol for the shopping cart for the relevant channel. In the following dialogue, enter the activation key and then press the "OK" button. For details, please refer to the commissioning instructions for the Professional Busmaster.
• External systems with OWFS: OWFS version 2.9p8 or higher and the installation of owhttp are required. Call up owhttp with the URL of the server on which OFWS / OWHTTP is installed with port 2121 (if installed with the standard port). First select "bus.0" and then "bus.2", then "interface" and then "settings". The configuration menu for the bus master appears and click on the link for "PBM". There you can enter the licence key and then press "Change". For details, please refer to the commissioning instructions for the Professional Busmaster.
   

Activation key "unlimited

The Professional Busmaster can also be activated with an "unlimited activation" for all channels. In this case, there is no longer a limit to the number of slaves. The activation is done in the same way as described above and is available for the single device as well as for the Professional Busmaster included in some models of the Timberwolf Server.

Despite "unlimited", there are physical limits on the 1-Wire bus depending on the particular installation. Please also take into account that contacts deteriorate over the years, so you should not push the limits (this applies to any bus system). We recommend no more than 30 1-Wire devices (with a total of 120 slaves) on a length of 200 m. No more than five VOC sensors of versions 2.x and 3.x should be used.
 

Notes on counting the slaves with regard to the activated number per channel

With regard to counting the 1-wire slaves, we distinguish between "licence-requiring" and "non-licence-requiring" 1-wire slaves. Basically, "non-licensable" slaves are memory chips that  we  use for  the  ElabNET Plug'n'Play .All  other  1-Wire slaves are counted  You will find a note in the data sheet of each of our sensors/actuators stating how many slaves of the module are subject to licensing.

The Professional Busmaster can also be activated with an "unlimited activation" for all channels. In this case, no limitation of the slaves has an effect.
